Six Trim Levels of the 2025 Mazda CX-50: Which One Is Right for You?

The 2025 Mazda CX-50 introduces an all-new hybrid model to its lineup, expanding the options for drivers seeking a blend of performance and efficiency. This compact SUV offers six distinct trim levels, each tailored to different needs and preferences. The CX-50's design focuses on supporting active lifestyles while delivering Mazda's signature driving dynamics.

GS-L and GS-L Hybrid

The 2025 Mazda CX-50 GS-L serves as the entry point to the range, featuring a Skyactiv 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine. This powerplant produces 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard i-Activ All-Wheel Drive and Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) with Sport and Off-Road modes provide versatility for various driving conditions.

Inside, the GS-L offers a 10.25-inch centre display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The infotainment system now includes Alexa Built-in, allowing for hands-free voice commands. Comfort features include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Safety is a priority, with enhancements for 2025 including vehicle exit warning and improved Smart Brake Support. The GS-L also includes Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Lane Keep Assist.

The 2025 CX-50 Hybrid models introduce a new level of efficiency to the lineup. The hybrid powertrain combines a 2.5L naturally-aspirated engine with electric motors, producing 219 horsepower and achieving an estimated fuel economy of 6.2 L/100km combined.

The Hybrid GS-L offers similar equipment to the non-hybrid GS-L, with the addition of unique 17-inch wheels.

This trim level suits budget-conscious buyers who want a solid set of features without compromising on essential technology and safety.

GT, GT Hybrid and GT Turbo

Building on the GS-L, the GT trim adds several comfort and convenience upgrades to the 2025 Mazda CX-50. Exterior enhancements include 20-inch alloy wheels and automatic power-folding side mirrors. Inside, ventilated front seats join the standard heated front seats, and a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat complements the driver's 10-way power seat.

The GT trim elevates the audio experience with a Bose 12-speaker premium system. Safety features expand to include a 360-degree view monitor with See-Through View function, front and rear parking sensors, and Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist.

The CX-50 Hybrid GT represents the pinnacle of the hybrid lineup. It features unique 19-inch wheels with an aerodynamic design, ventilated front seats, and a windshield-projected Active Driving Display, combining maximum efficiency with luxury features.

For those preferring more power, the GT Turbo offers a 2.5L turbocharged engine producing up to 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel. It includes paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience and boasts a towing capacity of 1,588 kg.

This trim level is ideal for families or individuals who prioritize additional comfort features and advanced safety technologies.

Kuro Hybrid

Available exclusively with the hybrid powertrain, the Kuro version of the 2025 Mazda CX-50 distinguishes itself by its unique style which is the result of a combination of blacked out exterior design elements, such as the roof rails and the exhaust tips, along with an available garnet red leather interior. Other features included in this version are similar to the ones found in the CX-50 GS-L.

This trim level is aimed at buyers who prioritize a distinctive style that will make their vehicle stand out from other CX-50’s and other SUVs alike.

Meridian Edition

The Meridian Edition, based on the 2025 Mazda CX-50 GT Turbo, focuses on all-terrain capability. It features exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, distinctive styling elements, and a range of outdoor-specific accessories. The Meridian Edition Apex Package further enhances its adventure-ready stance with roof-mounted crossbars and additional protective elements.

This trim is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who want to take full advantage of the CX-50's capabilities in various terrains.

The 2025 Mazda CX-50 offers a range of options to suit different lifestyles and preferences. From the well-equipped entry-level GS-L to the adventure-ready Meridian Edition, each trim level provides a unique blend of features. The introduction of hybrid models expands the appeal to efficiency-minded drivers without compromising on Mazda's driving dynamics. When choosing the right CX-50, consider your priorities in terms of performance, fuel efficiency, luxury features, and intended use.
